Middle Rasen Nursery Committee

Middle Rasen Nursery is a registered charity, supported by an elected Committee of volunteers. The Committee is mostly made up of parents and carers whose children attend our nursery or afterschool club, along with members of the local community who want to support the nursery’s ongoing success.

The Committee works closely with the Nursery Manager and staff team to help ensure the nursery runs smoothly, remains financially sustainable, and continues to provide a safe, welcoming and high-quality environment for children and families.

What does the Committee do?

Our Committee plays an important role in the overall running of the nursery. While the day-to-day care, learning and management of the children is led by our experienced nursery staff, the Committee provides support, oversight and guidance behind the scenes.

The Committee is responsible for:

  • Supporting senior staff with nursery finances, planning and personnel matters
  • Helping to make sure the nursery provides a high-quality service for children and families
  • Ensuring the nursery continues to work in partnership with parents and carers
  • Supporting fundraising activities and community events
  • Helping to make decisions that benefit the long-term future of the nursery

How to join the Committee

The Committee is elected each year at our Annual General Meeting, which is held in October. Parents, carers and members of the nursery community are welcome to attend the AGM, find out more about the Committee’s work, and put themselves forward if they would like to get involved.

Being part of the Committee is a great way to support the nursery, meet other parents, share ideas and help make a positive difference to the children and families who use our services. You do not need any specialist experience — just an interest in supporting the nursery and helping it continue to thrive.

Whether you can offer practical support, fundraising help, professional skills, fresh ideas, or simply a parent’s perspective, your contribution would be warmly welcomed.
